God Works Through Good Recipes

Monday evening, I decided I was going to find a recipe in which I could use the de-thawed chicken and fresh basil I had on hand. I search...and searched the internet for a recipe that wouldn't require a $20 grocery run, but nothing came up. Disappointed, I gave up my search and headed over to my recipe file to pull out a chicken enchiladas recipe. As I pulled out the folder, this beauty fell to the floor...

Isn't that AMAZING!?!? You see, Monday was a rough day. I was emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausted. AND I had been grumpy with Geoff before he left for a meeting. Sooo...here on my floor is a recipe for "Chicken in Basil Cream" (which I had EVERY single ingredient for) that says "Geoff Really Likes This!!!) Whooohoo!!!! Redemption through recipes :)
Too top it off, my wonderful husband came home with a dozen roses to brighten my day. I <3> Him!
By the way, Chicken in Basil Cream is Delicious and super easy!! As my mother in law said when I called to thank her for the recipe..."Sweetie, Sometimes God even works through good recipes"

All the Events leading up to Mr. and Mrs. Edwards...

The last month has been filled with wedding festivities! Bachorlette parties, Bridal Showers, Salon Appts, Rehearsals, Ceremonies, and Receptions...all the fun things leading up to becoming a Mr. & Mrs...
How Cute is this Sign they had up at the Entrance?!?!
Tasha's bachelorette was super fun! Her sister, Talesha, did a wonderful job planning out our evening. We stayed at the Portland Vintage Hotel (too cool!), dinner at Portland City Grill (which I had too miss because Geoff was in a wedding ceremony that night too!), I caught up with the girls later in the evening for some dancing and bachelorette games...Tash is a trooper! She completed almost every task she was given!

The Rehearsal went smoothly and the dinner Andrew's mom planned was awesome!! Here's a picture of the bridal party..

The Happy Couple
(Sorry, I don't feel like reloading this so its rotated..)
Geoff and I are so excited for Natasha and Andrew to join us in "Married life". They chose "And the greatest of these is Love" as a theme for their wedding. We thought wedding was a beautiful reminder that Love IS the greatest thing we have to give/receive. During the ceremony the pastor explained agape love as the type of love that says "I'm going to love you whether you like it or not". I think that is a great way to view marital love..."too bad mister, I love you know matter what" :)

Additionally, the reception reminded us of the legacy true, lasting love can create. Her grandparents danced to Brad Paisley's "All Because to People Fell in Love" and as I looked around the dance floor I saw ALL of their aunts and uncles holding tight to their own families with smiles on their faces. Reminded me why I want lots of babies :) I want Geoff and I to be at our grandchildrens' weddings in 40+ years and be able to physically see the love and family we created...

Everyone had a blast a the reception...We danced and danced...and danced the night away!!!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Edwards!!!!!!

Life in The Kirkendall House

I have always enjoyed reading friends and family's blogs; it is such a fun way to see what they have been up to, what God is teaching them, and how their little ones are growing and changing so quickly. The most intriguing thing to me about blogging is that it creates a scrapbook, diary, journal, and photo album all rolled into one place. I love that it shows our story. So many events happen every week that will quickly become fading memories, but I am determined to start tracking them through blogging so that we can have a fun way to look back over the years and see how we've grown and changed.

Therefore, Welcome to our blog :)

Life Right Now...
-We are living in a cute little love nest in Cottage Grove with our puppy Thunder and cats Pork and Beans

-Geoff was recently told that he has been hired with Portland Fire Dept. Hurray!!! We will be called to move up there "sometime" in the next 1.5 years.

-I will be starting a new job as a Marketing Production Assistant next week

-We love the funky gym we found in Creswell, and Geoff has begun training kids again. It is so impressive that these kids are willing to make the trip to work with him. He is just that good! Plus, it is encouraging to see kids putting in the extra effort to get better in off-season

-We have a summer full of weddings!!! I'm sure I'll be posting about some of them, but it is very fun to celebrate the marriages of so many of our good friends and family.

-We are coming up on our 4 month wedding anniversary, and are truly enjoying the blessings and challenges that come with being newlyweds. I am unreservedly grateful for my sweet husband and wouldn't change this "living on love" phase in our marriage for anything. <3
